hi, just finished reading artisan build, and it looks great!
im very interested in switching jobs and would like to know where you studied. it might seem silly but all the classes i have found are for skirting board and architrave.

Hi Roan, thanks for your comment. I’ve never taken an official education route for woodworking, I trained with my Dad for many years and also learnt a lot of what I know from my Grandad. From what I can tell furniture making isn’t something that’s taught widely in colleges any more especially not traditional skills. As you say site joinery courses are common place as I believe are design courses that have more emphasise on learning about modern production materials and methods. There are many private schools that can offer eductation in hand tool woodworking, Paul Sellers for example offers courses for various abilities in true hand tool skills – http://www.woodworkingschool.co.uk I’m sorry I can’t provide a more specific answer than this.
